Pure Joy

Sarah is six-months old and full of so much happiness. She is such a sweet, patient, happy baby, and we are thrilled that she is ours.

Some of her likes include:

Chewing and sucking on her thumb and hands

Sleeping: She takes two naps during the day that are about an hour and a half each. She goes to bed at 6:30pm and wakes up at 7am. She is really predictable, especially if I am able to stick to her sleeping schedule

Sucking on lids and toy cars

Kicking up her feet and rolling to her side

Playing peek-a-boo and tickling her neck (it always makes her giggle)

Some of her dislikes are:

Bottles: She refuses to take them, and our doctor said to give up at this point. She suggested moving on to a cup and solid food instead. She's not a huge fan of rice cereal, but will eat other baby foods.

Animals: Her cousin was dressed up as a reindeer with a funny hat on his head. Anytime he came near her, she would shake and cry. This will be interesting since Leah absolutely loves animals. Maybe she's just afraid of people dressed up as animals, which I will agree can sometimes be very scary.

Harris Teeter

The girls love going to the grocery store.

They opened a new Harris Teeter really close to us, and it's very lovely and kid friendly with cookies, free balloons, an airplane shopping cart.

Leah holds the balloon so tight the entire shopping trip, and then she makes sure to point out all the lost balloons in the rafters.

Just last week, she started adding items to my list like purple applesauce, macaroni and cheese, and string cheese.

Sarah also is starting to become fond of the balloons.

It made me smile to catch them holding hands on the couch, while I was putting the groceries away.

Sarah's face is so funny, and Leah is completely immersed in her show. She is starting to become really interactive with the TV show.

Exhausted and BBall

I'm still getting over a cold and have been so tired lately.

Tonight wore me out.

A new calling for David, and a babysitting arrangement that fell through left us to take the girls to the church this evening.

It turned out okay, especially since Leah was able to shoot a few hoops with her Daddy.

She had a great time and towards the end was running through the halls yelling "Basketball!! Basketball!!" She liked catching the ball, passing it, and watching Daddy shoot.

David has a game at 8pm on Friday, and I'm thinking we might try and take the girls. They usually go to bed at 6:30 so it will be a sacrifice, for me mainly. They always seem to do okay.

Sleeping In

...for me happens when I put myself to bed early.

I caught my girls cold and was exhausted yesterday.

So I went to bed at 8pm.

I feel so much better today.

68 Degrees

...and absolutely gorgeous here.

We took advantage of the great weather and went to the park with our friends. Leah and Josh played together the entire time, running up and down the ramps, going down the slides.

Leah had so much fun she didn't want to leave. Everyone was loaded up in the car, and she was still dragging her feet, despite the "okay, we are leaving" threat. Here she is standing defiantly in the soccer field.

I'm soooo ready for warm weather.

Sick Day

Girls were sick. I was going crazy. Lisa's work building caught on fire (a small one in the cafeteria). It made for a fun day for everyone.

Lisa and Leah loving the Papason chair.

You would never guess this girl was whinny, clingy, and overly emotional just a few hours earlier. By girl, I mean Leah, not Lisa.

Sarah DID NOT like sitting on the bean bag chair.

Some Goings On

We sold my car on Saturday and are officially a one car family.

Leah's learned how to take pictures. Nice huh?

She also is learning how to make all sorts of faces: happy, mad, silly, sad, surprised. They are really funny. I'm hoping to take pictures of them soon.

Sarah is rolling over in her crib. I love seeing her smile back at me after rolling over from her stomach to her back.

The girls have also been sick, again. There is lots of coughing this time around.

I've learned that Ibprofen makes Sarah super silly and hyper. She also seems to be handling the sickness better than Leah who isn't nearly as happy.

Here is a video of her at about 10pm. With practically no naps all day and being up way past her bedtime, she is still super smiley.

Bedtime

Some of my favorite pictures of the girls, like this one, are taken before bed on the chair in Leah's room.

...and a video for the grandparents

In case you were wondering, David covered the flashing orange light on the last picture. That's why Sarah isn't pulling a funny face. Leah didn't care much for the orange light either.

Big Girl

Big girl panties: Check
Big girl bed: Check
Big girl hair cut: Check

Doesn't she look so cute?

She immediately fell in love with it. She kept asking for a mirror and would smile and shake her head as she adored herself.

Sarah and I also got fixed up. A little trim for Sarah, and a very much needed haircut for me. Lisa also gave me a few jeans she no longer wears. I really needed those too.

While I was getting a hair cut, Leah was getting her nails painted. She is seriously spoiled rotten by Lisa and her roommates.

Thank you Lisa!

She Sits

She's been leaning out of the bumbo for a few weeks now.

Now she's doing the real thing with the help of a few pillows.

She likes to rub her head on the polka dot bars making her red hair very staticy.
