Anna's Baby Shower

My friends Jenn and Denise threw a lovely baby shower for me and invited the YW to come and tie a quilt.

We decided to throw the shower when the baby could join, because we didn't find out the gender before the birth. I'm so glad we did, because it was fun to introduce the YW and my friends to Anna in a casual setting.

My mom flew in the night before really, really late. She couldn't wait to hold Anna.

My best friend Jenn spoiled me during this pregnancy and birth. I feel so lucky to have her in my life.

Swimming Lessons

We decided to put Leah in swimming lessons at the community recreation center while David was home.

She enjoyed the first few lessons, and then she started to get nervous.

Leah doesn't like to put her head in the water so when the teachers started encouraging her to blow bubbles and put her eyes in...she started to get a little scared.

We are so proud of her. Even though she wanted to quit, she kept at it and listened to the teachers and tried.

She made it through the two week lesson and got a certificate. She perfected the back float and was really good at turning from her back to front.

After the lessons my parents took her to my friend Jenn's pool, and she was so brave. She went all the way under with "Auntie Jenn" and blew bubbles with her nose and mouth.

So proud of her!

June Highlights

The last part of June was spent hanging out as a family at home.

David was able to take two weeks off from work to be at home with us. It was so nice spending them time together and enjoying the slower pace that comes with a newborn.
