New Car Seat

Leah is loving her new carseat. Her first ride in it went like this:

It must be pretty comfortable.

A few steps

Distracted by a fireball Leah took about four steps on Sunday...

Today she took a few more on her way to get a cell phone. I have a feeling in a couple of weeks she is going to be taking a lot more.

Snowed In

The snow started on Friday, and by Saturday we had almost 30".

David shoveled the deck, sidewalk, and dug out our cars.

Leah tried to help.

Church was cancelled, and tomorrow will be the second day the Federal government is closed.

Another storm is on it's way, and we could get 20 more inches.

Everyone is hoping we break the record set in 1922 for the most snow in the DC area. We are getting close...

In the meantime, in between watching the news, snacking, and relaxing, we are doing some cleaning and organizing. Lisa and her friends were really crazy and drove out to have dinner with us yesterday.

Snow Day

It snowed here on Saturday, and in Virginia that means no one goes anywhere. So we stayed inside, and Leah and her Dad played with this most of the day.

Getting to Know Leah

Each day Leah shares a little more of herself with us.

Here are some things we enjoy about her:
  • She scrunches her nose up when she smiles really big
  • She LOVES dogs, even large barking ones
  • She says "choo, choo" when she hears the train whistle
  • She talks excitedly to Daddy or "Di-DAA, DA-DAAA, or Dad" as she calls him when we pick him up from the train
  • Staring out the window
  • Pointing at the moon
  • She loves kids of all ages, and she gets very excited anytime she sees one
  • She scowls when she can't figure something out, something confuses her, or she's upset
  • She is incredibly patient and determined (she spent 20 minutes trying to open a Ziploc bag until she figured it out)
  • She will do things when she is ready. For example, even after numerous attempts to "help" her crawl, she just wasn't interested. Then two weeks after her first birthday she just started crawling down the hall when no one was watching
